Cooking in Heels Diaries - Pecan crusted Strawberries and other lovelies
Happy Tuesday everyone! Its no secret that I absolutely love Cocoa in all its forms, I threw together this plate of decadence this past weekend because I was craving milk chocolate and pecan pie all at the same time. So here's an idea for a fun delish platter to accompany some bubbly and girltalk for the next entertaining event you may have coming up or Saturday movie night whatever comes first - Now we can all countdown to the weekend together!
The recipe starts with fresh and simple ingredients - seasonal fruit washed and dried, chocolate of your choice (melted in a double boiler with a sliver of butter), I went with Belgian milk chocolate, and nuts you may have handy, I chose toasted pecans - its a house favorite at our place.
Step 1: Dip the fruits in the chocolate and coat evently
Step 2: Let the excess drip off
Step 3: Dip the strawberry in a plate of nuts, you could also do coconut shavings, lemon sugar et all get creative with your taste buds
Step 4: Let it cool and set on a butter paper or cookie sheet, you may even put it in the fridge to quicken the cooling process
i
I also dipped crunchy Pear slices that came out absolutely lovely...
and then some mix-fruit skewers...
Not one to waste chocolate, once I was done I mixed the left over chocolate with the pecans and spooned it out on the cookie sheet to make some Pecan clusters...
and that's a wrap!
Thanks so much for reading I hope this inspired you to create some culinary delights of your very own, I would love to hear how you took this and put your very own signature stamp to it.
Now time to dig in!
