A midsummer affair

I am reeling under the glow of the Austin sun and summer breeze from the gorgeous summer wedding I attended there this past weekend, check out what I wore for the rehearsal dinner and the wedding below...
Inspired by the derby season and the dramatic headpieces worn to royal weddings, I was feeling like a Mad Men super hostess wife in this outfit. I simply love Polka dots and my wardrobe has its fair share of this delightful pattern. I love this J.Crew Dress and how classic it is, I will probably be wearing it years from now both dressed up and down. Dress: J.Crew here with a classy one for the office from Ralph Lauren here and super mod/even more Mad Men-esque version at Modcloth here, Bag Chanel, Headpiece - Red Rosette with Feathers broach pinned to a satin headband - Do you heart Polka as much as me, share your finds with us, tell me about your love affair with polka...

A playful accessory just punches up your mood and your outfit - I found some great options online for you a similar red rose at Amazon here and a peacock feather version here. I wore this outfit to the Wedding Rehearsal, I would love to hear where you get inspired to wear them. Sunday Brunch anyone?

This is a picture from the wedding day, the lady who did my hair was a magic maker - she managed to whip my asymmetric bob into shape and out came an elegant braided do which is another hair trend that I am loving right now - I am now a believer Braided up-do's are for everyone.
Dress and Chunky Cuff on the Wrist - Cache, Necklace - Kate Spade, Metallic Sandals - Michael Kors here
I absolutely love these Michael Kors shoes, they can be dresses up or down and are super comfortable, plus they are in this seasons hot metallic hue, you cannot go wrong with these.

I couldn't help but gush over my beautiful Friend Thai - she was an elegant and endlessly beautiful bride, in case you are wondering the bustier part of her wedding gown is made of feathers, she looked like an angel!

  1. Every outfit you wore on this post is so pretty and beautiful on you. I also love the way how your hair was styled. I just want to know where did u get those dress (the last pic you showed? Actually, since I got 2 kids, I never go shopping to mall anymore, I usually check online looking for cheap clothes and accessories instead of searching through racks and racks of items at the mall. It's been so easy and comfortable since I don't have to carry my kids at all when buying clothes or any stuff I need.
